The Artscape Artists range
Artscape Artists is a new range of contemporary art cards which aims to showcase the work of talented and exciting artists, bringing a welcome splash of vibrant new art to a wider and ever more discerning audience. Current contributors are British artists Mark Kaiser, Dylan Izaak and Ed Gray.
Mark Kaiser – “I paint from memories of places that I have been to, of atmospheres that have stuck in my mind. I’m interested in architecture and also the human need to call a place ‘home’. I like to put in characters to make a painting more colourful, even if it is someone on a blue tractor. An important thing I’ve learned is to paint from the heart; learn from the Masters but paint as yourself. ”
Dylan Izaak – “After travelling the world for years in a continuous summer as a street artist, I returned to England, opened a gallery and showed the work I had painted for my own pleasure. Since then I haven’t painted another boring picture. I try to tell a story, from the loneliness of city life to a humorous look at human behaviour, or I’ll take an everyday scene and give it a twist.”
Ed Gray – Young British artist, Ed Gray exposes the richness and contrast of London life in a most exciting way. Like Hogarth did two centuries ago, Ed manages to strike a good balance between stylisation of imagery and the reality of the subject matter, or as the artist himself says, “(search for) the glitter amongst the grime.”
